Etsy Customer Yvonne Explains Mobius Crocheting Experience

I’ve always had the best experience talking with Yvonne. She is one of my best and enthusiastic Etsy customers. She always comes back and explain to me how well she created her designs using my patterns. It’s so awesome when someone tries your patterns. I like the way she explains her experience with the patterns. It’s gratifying to know that someone finally gets what you’re thinking. Yvonne is one of my favorites. She is one of those customers that always stands out. I featured her many times in my previous blog posts and it’s always refreshing and exciting to talk to her.

She always comes forward to tell me what she did. Here is an Etsy conversation that says that. I asked for her permission if it was okay if I post the conversation. She said it was okay. Here I am as I will quote how well she explained her experience on the Mobius hats and patterns scarves. She explains in her own words.

Hello Lenore,
I am sorry to say, I just this minute got to see this message (a month later)!
I have been very busy and not keeping up online, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, or Etsy. Sorry!
I have missed you and your posts the most though.

I love the blog post! Thank you! I can’t believe my Gele (your Gele!) is featured! Thank you!

I have many more finished hats made from your patterns (17 patterns in all! So far!)
However, I haven’t been able yet to get them photographed like I would have liked too.
Now, I am really motivated to get them to you!

Usually by the time I have completed your pattern, I have somehow changed it a bit, and all of a sudden, I discover so many different ways that same pattern can be created and/or styled! Unique! One-of-a-Kind! Formal! Elegant! Casual! Playful!

Make it your own! Anyone could do any of your patterns over and over again, and no two would ever really be the same, or “style” the same.

Each time I complete one of your patterns, I am challenged! I am excited! as it grows, I can hardly wait to complete it! to see whether or not I got the pattern correct and achieved the desired result!

I will admit, the process can be a bit challenging for me, because I am so used to creating my own patterns, it is difficult to blindly follow someone else’s written directions, without the benefit of knowing, up front, “Why?” I am doing a certain Stitch or Row, BEFORE I reach the desired, (or necessary to complete the next row) end result. I am always anxious to know EXACTLY where the hook goes, (in the front loop, in the back loop, under both loops), or EXACTLY how many stitches I am supposed to end EACH Row with, or EXACTLY why I am increasing or decreasing THIS Row. What is this Row SUPPOSED to look like? Etc….

However, this all ends when I see the end result!
I scream, “I did it!” “Look at it! I can do this with it! I can do that with it! Oh, my goodness! Look! I can do this too!” “Where is my camera!” “How many colors can I make it in?” ……..on and on!……

The Möbius Twist is a game changer! It is NOT just an “INFINITY” Scarf! It is a “Möbius Twist” Scarf!
It is NOT just a Hat! It is a “Möbius Twist” Hat! (Or should I say, a Hat created using the “Möbius Twist”?)

Whatever you call them, call them “Ingenious”! The completed Hat or Scarf will be worth the initial challenge and investment of time and patience! Each pattern gets easier as you become more comfortable with the techniques and stitches used to create the Twist!

And Lenore you are the genius! I could never have done it without your patterns, your constant 911 HELP! Your support! and patience! Thank you! Thank you!

I will send more photos soon, along with the story behind each one.

Don’t forget you should already have photos of another hat I completed (in white/eggshell).
I believe it was the Virginia Steampunk, that I said turned out to remind me of the Gele, (only with a Brim).

I had promised, a few months back, to send more photos of the other Hats I had completed, but I dropped my camera in a toilet at Burger King, BY MISTAKE! I did not have an SD card in it, so unfortunately, many of those photos will have to be taken over again! (What a bummer!)

This was supposed to be short and sweet, but as is usual with me, short never seems to be the case.
Thanks for listening, caring, and especially the “Shout Out”!

Ms Yvonne

Since my hats are inspired by shapes, I experimented with the triangle. The LINDA hat has 3 points. When I designed it, I was amazed how well it hugs the head. My mission was to create an amazing hat. The 3 points became a 3 sided brim. I gave it variety and asymmetry and only used 2/3 of the brim to add the loop fringes. This is the answer to the crochet version of couture hats.

The LINDA crochet cloche hat for women is dark country blue. It has an upper wide brim and loops that guarantees style and comfort. The 3″(8cm) long loops peep out of the crown 2/3 around and above the 2″(5cm) wide upper brim. The 3-sided shaped hat sits above the ears. The 3″(cm) edge sits above the brow line.
