Meet Yvonne, one of my great pattern customers, is at it again. She crocheted this wonderful Gele crochet African head wrap hat It looks like the Deitra head wrap or headwrap hat and the Joan hooded infinity scarf. Wear it for many hair wrap styles. It has amazing ways of coming together. Wear the hat many ways.

Take your crochet up a notch. You don’t need a pattern for the Gele hat. All you need is the Deitra hat or Joan scarf pattern. They are the exact same pattern. I marketed one as a scarf and the other as a head wrap hat. It’s so versatile and the ideas of wearing it are endless. I would like to recommend this for expert crocheters who like to take their crochet up a different level.

Below is the Deitra Hat Pattern is the African Gele Hat.

Speaking of skill level, imagine yourself sewing the same design with 2 pattern brands. One is from Simplicity and the other from Vogue. Of course Vogue is going to be a little more advanced yet it has a more elegant appearance. Therefore, this is the same effect here. This article will help you appreciate the different ways of making this hat and scarf. It’s all done by one simple half twist. the entire design depends on this half twist.

Yvonne Makes Amazing Navy Gele Crochet African Head Wrap Hat

As a result, imagine yourself crocheting an infinity scarf. You work in the flat and work back and forth. Once finished, twist it a 180 degree angle and then join the 2 ends together. In this case, you will do the same thing except it is in the chain. Therefore, you cut extra time from crocheting it back and forth. Moreover, my technique works an endless seam. As a result, the work appears to move up and down in both directions. This may be grasping to understand all at once but once. When you start it’s simpler than it looks.

Yvonne did a wonderful job. She asked tons of questions which is good. One of her main concerns was half twisting in the wrong direction. It doesn’t matter which direction you twist the chain in the beginning. The whole idea is having fun and welcoming a new challenge that is easier than it looks.
Below are pictures taken by Yvonne herself. She proudly displays her accomplished works of art.

Pack your sunglasses, flip flops, sunscreen, and sun hat. MONCHERIE is French for my sweetie. Let every woman redefine millinery hemp fashion in her own color. It is made of natural 1mm wide polished hemp cord twine. Tuck in your hair or wear it down at the beach. The featherweight raw mesh texture feels airy for the casual summer. Roll it, crush it, stuff it in a pocket or bag.
