She worked all her life. Society strips her dignity and values. It also hurts me when society casts aside retired people with less income than their employed counterparts. They can no longer work…

Little Known Ways I Can Simplify My Designs

strawberrycouture hats
I would like to crochet some of these scallops (pictured) for my famous asymmetrical cloche hat. The LAUREN hat has zigzag scallops and the OMBRETTA has a crab Stich straight edging. I'd like to emphasize other edgings on the brim and flower.  That would work well because no matter what other twisted hat design I make people always fall back to the same asymmetrical cloche hat. I came across this on this Pinterest board. There is block edging, rick rack, pointy, square, and asymmetrical edgings. They all look great with this particular hat, the number one seller of all time. To this day, I still don't know why. One customer likes the complex design. My other hats have the same complex designs of the Mobius twist, perhaps too advanced than the…

Do Something Like Follow Your Own Trend

English: a Mobius strip (Photo credit: Wikipedia)English: Mobius strip deformed to have a circular boundary. Made with Mathematica. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)I never like to follow specific trends, but believe in creating my own. People might follow them.  I love Mobius strip.  I wear plain clothes and top it off with a fancy and functional accessory.  Exploring a style never tried before is the joy of creating.  Having an unusual name means having an unusual mindset.  I crochet different styles that create conversation pieces.  Everyone here has their own texture and mixture.  Blogs make a great medium to let you know how everyone is doing.  Set your own distinction and identity. Never compromise.  Flamboyant, classic, quirky, artistic, art deco, et cetera, styles draw us all together.Related articlesArt Deco Runway and Celebrity…

Announcing The Clairisse Beanie Hat with Asymmetrical Flip Top Visor Pattern and Other Thoughts to Share

strawberrycouture hats
moebius strip #1 (Photo credit: CARMENRUETER)I uploaded my pattern for the Clairisse Beanie Hat with Asymmetrical Flip Top Visor. It took me awhile to get the pattern up and running. I constructed the Flip top like another Möbius design, not as fancy like the other previous hats. This and few of my latest patterns involve helpful tips of important points you never expected. Flip the visor up or down. The left bottom corner of the visor opens and extends to the top right side of the hat. This may sound like an advertisement but I'd like to talk about it from a personal point of view. I look forward to see your view there. I have other rough drafts of Möbius hat patterns of different styles that crochets the same…

I did some research. Hialeah has a long history dating back to the 1920s. It is the second highest percentage of Cuban and Cuban American residents of any city in the country. Subscribe to feed

Puzzle by The Wentworth Wooden Jigsaw Company Limited (Photo credit: Wikipedia)I love whimsical things such as furniture with character. For instance, straight-laced furniture stands straight up and down with a blank face. On the contrast, whimsical furniture for example can come to life. The desk winks at you, the bedroom dresser bows down to you, your refrigerator dances for you on its legs let alone run down the street. Whimsical means given to whimsy; capricious; odd; peculiar; playful; light-hearted or amusing. Whimsy…

Strawberry Couture – Mobius Crochet – Little Known Ways to Rethink Mobius Crochet

strawberrycouture hats
English: Mobius Strip 2 (Photo credit: Wikipedia)I saw a video today about the hyperbolic crochet. It is a crochet piece influenced by mathematics. Hyperbolic crochet pieces do not lay flat as a whole. The video talked about so many aspects of it:  fashion, the environment, the sea creatures. The cause goes beyond the maker.  I would like to emphasize the Mobius strip. It involves math inspired fashion crochet. Fold a strip of paper. Tape the 2 ends together. It becomes a one sided or odd number surface.  Work it as a crochet or knit piece. I made a Mobius purse one time with a mobius strap. It held and curled around my neck in a unique way. I wore it crossed over my other shoulder. The strap could not hold…
